Domains Expiring Soon .vc

Names still owned, but already scheduled for deletion. The countdown is the registry's own delete date — when it hits zero the name is first come, first served.

About Domains Expiring Soon

Timing questions: what the countdown means, when a name is really free, and what you can and cannot do in advance.

What does “expiring soon” mean on this page?

It means the registry has already scheduled the name for deletion. The names here are still owned — nobody can register them yet — but the registry has published a delete date, shown in the Drops at column. When the countdown reaches zero the name is released and anyone can take it. Names that have already been released are on the expired domains list instead.

What is the difference between expiring, pending delete and available?

Three stages of the same process. Expiring: the owner has not renewed and a grace period is running, during which they can still take the name back. Pending delete: the last registry-held stretch before release, which is what the countdown on this page tracks — still nobody can register it. Available: the registry has let the name go and it can be registered at any registrar.

What does “drops in” mean?

It is a countdown to the registry’s delete date for that name. Drops at is the timestamp the registry published; Drops in counts down to it in your browser. When it reaches zero the name is first come, first served. The moment belongs to the registry, and a release can run late, so read the countdown as the earliest the name can be free rather than an exact appointment.

Why do most .dk, .se and .no names have no drop date?

Because those registries do not publish one. A delete date has to come from the registry, and gTLDs such as .com publish it while most country registries do not. This page can only list names with a published date, so for those TLDs it is short or empty. That is missing data at the registry, not a gap in our checking — the names still turn up on the expired list once they are actually free.

Can I reserve or pre-order a name before it drops?

No. Nothing here puts a hold on a name, and we do not run a backorder or drop-catching service of our own. When the registry releases the name it is first come, first served at a registrar. The Backorder button opens our registrar list, and some of those registrars sell a backorder attempt — that is their service, and it is an attempt, not a promise. On a contested name, several people are trying in the same second.

How do I find out the moment a name becomes free?

Set up a match rule. Tell your matches the words you are hunting, and we e-mail you when a name containing them has been verified free. The rules run every fifteen minutes around the clock, and you can keep up to five of them. Matches and favourites need a free account; everything else on the site is open to everyone.

Does an expiring domain keep its old traffic or SEO value?

Assume not. Links to the old site may be long gone by the time the name drops, and we show no backlink or authority metrics that would suggest otherwise — that data came from a service we no longer use. Choose the name for the name: short, clear, letters only, easy to say out loud. Whatever it inherits from its past is a bonus, not a plan.
