About Your Profile
What you can change here, what we send you, and what we do not.
What can I change on my profile?
Four things: your display name, your e-mail address, your password, and whether you get an e-mail when one of your match rules finds something. That is the whole account. There is no billing, no subscription and no plan to change — the site is free to use, and registering domains happens at a registrar, not here.
What e-mails will I get?
Only two kinds: a note when one of your match rules finds new names, at most once a day, and account mail such as a password reset when you ask for one. No newsletter, no marketing, no daily listing digest. If you have no match rules and never ask for a reset, you will not hear from us at all.
How do I stop the match e-mails?
Turn off “E-mail me when one of my rules matches” in the Alerts card and save. Your rules keep running and new matches keep appearing on your matches page; you just stop being told by mail. To stop the matching itself, pause or delete the rules on that page instead.
Why do you ask for my password to change my e-mail address?
Because the e-mail address on the account is also the password-reset address. Anyone who could change it from an open session could lock you out of your own account permanently. Asking for the current password means a borrowed or hijacked session is not enough. Changing your password itself also signs you out everywhere else, for the same reason.
Is my display name shown publicly?
No. Nothing on your profile is public. The display name is only what we call you in e-mails and in the top bar when you are signed in. There are no public profiles, no user pages and no way for another visitor to see your name, your favorites or your match rules.
How do I delete my account?
Ask us and we will do it. There is no delete button on this page yet, so write to us through the contact page from the address on the account and we will remove it along with your favorites and your match rules. If you only want the mail to stop, turning off the match alert above is enough.
Do I need an account to use the site?
Only for favorites and match rules. The domain listings, the WHOIS and DNS lookup and the name generator are all public and need no sign-in. An account is free and exists so that saved names and watch rules have somewhere to live that follows you between devices.
